Dr. Brian Adams: The Power of Forgiveness

In this interview with Brian on “The Power of Forgiveness,” he shares with viewers about his new book on this topic, which is based on the heart of Matthew 18. He states that faith moves God, but it is forgiveness that actually releases His power. Dr. Brian describes forgiveness as a conscious decision that people can choose to make. Oftentimes, it is not that someone “cannot” forgive, it is that they “will not” forgive.
The reality of unforgiveness is that it hurts the person harboring it within themselves, not the person that the bitterness is directed toward. If we are holding anger, resentment, or unforgiveness toward anyone – we cannot love. Love and healing are directly linked to one another, meaning forgiveness also plays a role in healing and loving others too.

Rise Up with Jenny and Katie has broadcasted to the 10/40 Window bi-weekly since March of 2020. The “10/40 Window” is the rectangular area of North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia that is home to two thirds of the world’s population, an estimated 5.11 billion people. This region typically has less access to the gospel, with as many as three out of five people having zero access to the gospel message. The Rise Up Show receives hundreds of thousands of calls each week, and since airing for the first time last year, has grown to nearly 1.5 million viewers per episode.
The viewers of Rise Up With Jenny and Katie are diverse, with people of Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and Christian faith. Many in this region show legal, economic, and social preferences to their religion and suppress most who claim to follow Jesus. The poorest of the poor predominantly live in the 10/40 Window. Spiritual strongholds maintain poverty, disease, and oppression, with billions being held captive and kept from the transforming power of the Gospel of Jesus.
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 4:18-19
Jesus makes it clear in this passage that one of His missions, and also ours, is to bring the Gospel message to those who are oppressed and being held captive. We are to proclaim the good news and bring light and life to all we can.
In an effort to spread the gospel, Pastor John and Rachel Javed founded the King Television Network in January 2020.
